The Plymouth Ghana Link has made arrangements for a visit from the Erica Kyere, Communications Director of Kuapa Kokoo for this year’s Fair Trade Fortnight.
Kuapa Kokoo has 45,000 farmer members and many of them produce cocoa for Fair Trade companies. Erica has excellent knowledge of the Cooperative and of Fair Trade in general, and during her time in Plymouth she can visit schools and other education centres, give media interviews, and speak to churches, Rotary Clubs and community groups.
To make enquiries about a visit from Erica, contact the Plymouth Ghana Link www.plymouthghanalink.org or either of the two people listed below:

Erica Kyere, Communications Director of Kuapa Kokoo “I was born on the 25th September 1980 to Mr. Evans Kyere and Madam Agnes Mensah. I have a first degree in Economics and management from the University of Ghana and an MBA in marketing from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science of Technology. I am married to Mr. Kojo Kanham who is an Architect and we have two boys (Kofi and Kojo Kankam). I am the second girl of five children of my parents. I have worked at Kuapa Kokoo for 6 years. I started off as a Development Officer and got promoted to my current position of Communications Manager 2 years ago. As a development officer, I travelled a lot to the villages/societies to ascertain problems and challenges members face so that the Union can fashion out ways to combat them. I also do a lot of education on various topics and principles and cooperation. I see my job as a communications manager as a continuation of my previous job. I have led the communications team to come out with a communications strategy to address most of the challenges facing the cooperative. |
Fairtrade means a lot to us in Kuapa Kokoo! By purchasing a Fairtrade product, you will be helping farmers get access to clean drinking water which people in the North take for granted, you’ll be helping a poor child get access to education and generally helping a farmer take control of his/her life! What keeps me going is when a farmer smiles at me after something I have done and says that you for that deed!” |
